HAZEL STICK Version 1.5 (25-12-23) is out?!


MERRY BIRTHDAY HAZEL STICK!!! 


Here's a little surprise update to celebrate my very own game being one whole year old!


[ FEATURES ]

  • More Coloured Stats: 
    • Current HP now shows in yellow if below one third of Max HP.
    • LEVEL now shows in yellow if a Boss.
    • Name now shows in yellow if a Dapper Beast.
    • MAX HP, ATK, MAG and SPD now (slightly) show blue if raised and red if lowered.
    • These help with assessing the situation at a glance (but are clearly not required given they took a year to be added)
  • Forfeit Function:
    • If you get stunlocked, a prompt will appear where pressing (A)/[Space] will instantly defeat Hazel.
    • The prompt appears if Hazel spends 10 consecutive turns under the effects of Sticky and/or Sleepy.
    • This prevents scenarios where you have to wait a while (or even forever) to actually play the game again.
    • (A similar function already exists when Infinite HP is enabled but would have allowed for Wither Mode exploits.)
  • Other Changes to Battles:
    • Gaining multiple LEVELs at once now shows as a single text. i.e. "LEVEL +2!" (no more levelups filling the screen and your ears)
    • Changed the descriptions of many Spells to explain them better. (only Deadly mentions "instant" now)
    • Hazel is now guaranteed to learn Hearty from FLOOPS if at LV 4 or higher. (another essential Spell in the first area)
    • Fixed being able to Swap Sticks during other actions. (extremely OP exploit that nobody noticed until recently)
    • Fixed Deadly never hitting if the chance is less than 1%. (only noticed this because of stunlocks)
    • Adjusted the "lore" previously added to most battle backgrounds. (read the end of this post)
  • Changes to the World:
    • Edited the CERULEA tree tile to be more ~festive~ (Also applies to the battle background!)
    • Beast #32 now appears in Evening Wood again. (replacing Beast #25 this time)
    • Changed the name and description of Stick #44. (more elaborate jokes)
    • Changed the description of Sticks #21  and #22. (to reflect the changed Spell descriptions)
    • Fixed Bestiary entry #33 showing the wrong Stick. (I left this mistake in for a whole year???)
    • Fixed certain powerful Bosses not showing their Dapper colours correctly. (trying not to spoil this)
    • Removed one weird pixel from Stick #41. (also fixed up the itch.io page a bit including removing said pixel from images)


(All versions are still available to play while you wait for a certain Big Update that I've been planning for a long time...)
